Northumbrian Water - Unique Renewable Energy Source Upgrade

Established in 1995 Northumbrian Water’s Bran Sands facility, Teesside, provides effluent treatment for major multi-national companies in the vicinity, and is the largest reception and treatment facility in the region for tankered industrial effluents. The Bran Sands facility has won four environmental awards.

Challenge

Northumbrian Water’s engineers had to procure a SCADA control system based on a rugged platform that had local support. Solution Woodhead SST intelligent communication cards Flat Screens installed
cold spare server Wonderware InTouch 9.0.

Implementation

SolutionsPT prepared a detailed site survey and listed a scope of work that would be beneficial to the reliable running of the plant and also provide better operating and maintenance access. All of this had to be done without incurring downtime in what is in effect a continuous process.
